No Poverty and Reduced Inequalities


To honor the memory of DMCI Holdings founder David M. “DM” Consunji, various donors contributed over P1.5 million to the Orani Suhay Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization that promotes the welfare and development of marginalized communities in Orani, Bataan and nearby areas. Orani was very close to DM's heart because it was where he first learned the value of hard work, accountability and thriftiness.

As part of its coal operating contract with the Philippine Government, Semirara Mining and Power Corporation remits a certain percentage of its revenues as royalties to the National and Local government units.  In the last five years, SMPC has remitted P7.1 billion to the National Government, P900 million to the Provincial Government and P1.2 billion to the host barangay, totaling P11.8 billion.  Royalties from SMPC’s mining operations have transformed the municipality of Caluya from a fourth class municipality to a first class municipality (since 2007).

DMCI Homes donated construction materials to build the new shelter of Cribs Foundation, a non-profit organization that takes care of abandoned, neglected, surrendered and female minor survivors of sexual abuse.  The old shelter sits on the Marikina faultline, and houses around 20 children.

Maynilad continued to empower the Dumagat sculptors of Ipo Watershed through art. After the success of the Sungka Series and the mentorship under artist Tata Raul Funilas, the sculptors produced exquisite desk clocks and other new woodcrafts that eventually became part of Maynilad’s Christmas giveaways.  The nine sculptors who were part of the program each earned anywhere from P6,000 to P12,000 for their creations.
